R.I.Peace

Night of Terrier (Boston Terriers)

R.I.Peace designs mash-up peace designs and Halloween.  A few designs emote the traditional darker feeling of Halloween, but most designs have a lighter, happier… more peaceful approach to Halloween.  R.I.Peace was chosen as the moniker for these Halloween designs because R.I.P and Rest in Peace are common elements in Halloween designs.  Showing abbreviations for the words “Rest” and “In” while spelling out “Peace” highlights the word Peace signaling what these Halloween designs represent.  R.I.Peace designs are largely focused on three different subject matters, peaceful Frankensteins, peace promoting witches, and peace-loving pets.

Nothing brings peace, love, and joy like our pets, so dogs and cats are a natural choice to symbolize peace. Once we fall into slumber, who knows what our pets might be up to. The Night of Terrier design is not a night of terror but of Terrier, specifically Boston Terriers. A Boston Terrier is flying the night sky on the lookout for Halloween treats. Her BT pal sits atop a carved jack-o-lantern looking stylish dressed in a festive Halloween cape with matching hat. Hanging out with the pack is their feline friend who doesn't seem to realize he is not a dog. Another R.I.Peace Halloween design includes a Boston Terrier and black cat hanging out among jack-o-lanterns. A spookier design includes a crossed-over skeletal Boston Terrier hanging out with his black cat friend.  The black cat with a Square Peace on his collar is a repeating print on several dress designs.

Peace Signs and Frankensteins designs give Frankenstein a modern makeover. These Frankensteins look modern and hip, while vibing peace.  One Frankenstein is styling a blazer and tie matched with torn jeans and sneakers.  Another Frankenstein sits cross-legged on the ground with slicked back hair wearing an unbuttoned blazer with no shirt.  His purple Square Peace necklace medallion ties in with his hipster purple pants.  One design shows a Frankenstein meditating in a peaceful graveyard.  He has a monster friend on each side flashing a hand peace sign. Even though they only come out at night, most of these Frankensteins wear cool shades.  The message of peace goes beyond a meditating Frankenstein and monsters flashing hand peace signs.  The tombstone is marked with a Square Peace sign, and the words Rest in Peace. The black cat sitting by the headstone wears a Square Peace hanging from his collar. The night is full of the spirit of peace.

Witching You Peace designs encompass modern peaceful witches. These modern witches are attractive and minus warts.  One design is a black & white graphic art witch holding up a hand peace sign. Another design includes two dancing witches, one wearing a dress adorned with Square Peace signs.  Another design shows a witch standing over her caldron brewing her recipe for peace. Several designs include witches holding poles with Square Peace signs.  Witches can want world peace too!

This tongue-in-cheek combination of Peace and Halloween is intended to trigger smiles. Peace is often perceived as serious, calm, or quiet.  R.I.Peace is fun, raucous and joyful.  Peace is not just for moments of solitude and meditation or when we volunteer to help others.  Peace should be integrated into every moment including when celebrating Halloween.  These were fun to design and my hope is people have fun viewing and wearing them.  Wishing you peace, love, and ART!!!
